Three students of the Institute of Professional Studies, IPS, in Akyem Kukurantumi in the Eastern region have been arrested by the Kukurantumi Police for allegedly gang raping a 16-year-old JHS student.
The suspects have been granted bail after police preliminary investigations which led to their arrest on November 6, 2015.
This was after the parents of the victim had stormed the Police station where she complained that, the three suspects had gang-raped the victim after holding her hostage for days.
However there was a bizarre twist to the whole issue when the victim revealed to the police that one of the suspects was her boyfriend who she decided to pass the night with on one occasion. She continued that on another occasion, she had an affair with one of his lover’s friends in his absence.
The victim name withheld, admitted to having consensual sexual intercourse twice with her boyfriend and once with her boyfriend's friend in the absence of the boyfriend.
She however, denied having sexual intercourse with the third suspect during police interrogation.
The suspects have since been granted police enquiry bail with one surety while a docket is being prepared to the Attorney General's Office for advice.
