Ghana Signs Prisoner Transfer Agreement With Britain

Government of Ghana has signed a Prisoner transfer deal with the United Kingdom (UK) following an outdoor ceremony in Accra on Thursday.

The Prisoner Transfer deal means that Ghana and the UK can now transfer home citizens of their respective countries incarcerated within the boundaries of both countries.

Deputy Attorney General, Dominic Ayine in confirming the deal at a press release in Accra explained the move was to ensure equal justice for all Ghanaian prisoners no matter their geographical location.

The deal follows a recent deal struck between Jamaica and the UK in October 2015.
