Gov't Orders EOCO To Investigation K.T Hammond Over Sale Of Drill Ship

Government has ordered the Economic and Organised Crimes Office (EOCO) to as a matter of urgency investigate NPP Member of Parliament for Adansi Asokwa K.T Hammond over how he disbursed $900,000 proceeds from the sale of a said drill ship owned by the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) during the administration of  ex President Kufuor  in 2001.

According to the 107- page directive from government, Hon. K.T Hammond is to account for the difference of $900,000 after the sale of the ship in 2001 for $25 million in order to defray a $19.5 million debt owed Societe-Generale Bank.

Should K.T Hammond fail to satisfy EOCO on the basis of truth, thus he declared guilty, he is likely to face a jail sentence for causing financial loss to the state.
