School Shuts Down Due To Teacher-Absenteeism

The Tsakatsakam Primary School located at Yilo Krobo in the Eastern Region has been closed down as a result of teachers not showing up to teach since school reopened for over two months now - a development which has forced hundreds of school children to drop out of school.

Reports by Starr FM in Accra reveals that the said school facility has currently been turned to a resting and storage facility as traders engage in brisk trading activated there.

Meanwhile, Member of Parliament overseeing the constituency, Kofi Amoateng has expressed shock and disappointment over the development In his reaction to the development, he condemned the act by the said teachers to vacate the classrooms at the expense of the children.

The Ministry of Education is yet to respond to the development as it remains in high contrast with the actions government has implemented in the provision of progressive free basic and senior education.
