The Director-General of Public Affairs of the Ghana Police Service, DCOP David Nenyi Ampah-Bennin has revealed that service is deploying about 7,000 police personnel across the country to supervise the NDC elections to ensure safety and peace on Saturday.
Speaking on Adom FM’s Burning Issues programme Wednesday, DCOP Ampah-Bennin warned that “persons who intend to cause trouble at the ruling National Democratic Congress parliamentary and presidential primaries to desist because those who will be arrested will be prosecuted.”
He also urged the all NDC members to cooperate with the police to ensure peaceful and successful elections.
The NDC will on Saturday November 21 elect parliamentary and presidential primaries to contest national multi-party elections in 2016.
The primaries will be held across the 275 constituencies.
