David Beckham has been named by the PEOPLE's Magazine as Sexiest Man Alive for year 2015.
In response to the honor done him, David noted that he is please to accept the ‘crown’ and deems it a huge honour.
Although he's been a sex symbol for nearly two decades, the self-effacing soccer icon isn't sure he's even deserving of the mantle. "I never feel that I'm an attractive, sexy person," he says in this week's cover story.
"I mean I like to wear nice clothes and nice suits and look and feel good, but I don't ever think of myself that way."
Fashion mogul and wife of David, Victoria Beckham, 41, is totally in support of the news and has received it with great joy
"I would hope that she feels this way about me all the time anyway!" he says with a shy smile. "But she said, 'Congratulations!' "
David further noted that his family laugh at him with his new title as the sexiest man alive and they further question if it is really true.
The 40- year old ex- footballer is a global superstar, devoted husband and down-to-earth dad of four.
David Beckham is father of Brooklyn, 16, Romeo, 12, Cruz, 10, and Harper, 4, Beckham says he's getting the most ribbing from his eldest: "Brooklyn was the one who was like, 'Are you sure it's not me that's meant to be there today?'"
