Agric Minister and Member of Parliament for the Ketu South constituency, Fifi Kwetey says the opposition NPP will never come to the reins of power again.
According to the MP “NPP is a party meant for the opposition, they would remain in opposition forever…because our song even says from victory onto victory meaning defeat upon defeat for the NPP”.
Addressing a group of NDC members in the Volta Region to climax President Mahama’s nationwide Changing Lives tour, Fiifi Kwetey said: “our opponents will always have defeat, ours is victory. They will never come back to government,” he reiterated.
He opined that the NDC borrowed out the presidency to the NPP, but they destroyed the country’s economy. “… that is why we won [elections] in 1992, 1996, and in 2001 we borrowed them the presidency and what did we see…cocaine here cocaine there…”
The MP further stated that the NPP’s claims over 76,000 Togolese had been captured on Ghana’s voters’ register in the Volta Region is an insult to residents in the region.
“For us in the Volta Region…we want to tell them that if they [NPP] think that we are Togolese then they don’t know what is coming to them. More fire from Volta Region. From Ketu South, more deadly fire…calling us Togolese is a massive insult to us…we don’t betray Ghana, we are loyal to Ghana.”
He finally called on residents of the Volta region to ensure that Mahama is retained in the upcoming 2016 polls.
