Becca parted ways with her former manager Kiki Banson earlier this year after several years of working together. The last months of their working relationship was dogged with allegations and counter-allegations.
In a related development, Kiki Banson’s EKB Records has officially unveiled neo-soul singer, Jane Fara Fauzzier Afia Boafowaa Yahaya Awindor, as headline artiste for this year’s Girl Talk Concert.
The announcement was followed with the news that the contract with Efya as the headline artiste will last for three years.
Kiki Banson who unveiled the “Best In Me” hit maker at the launch of the concert on Tuesday evening, noted that Efya’s energy and attitude on stage convinced his team to take a decision to sign her for three years.
Succeeding, 'The African Woman' singer Becca after 4 years, an excited Efya told the press that it was a great feeling to headline such a big event especially taking up the mantle from the person she’s looked up to.
This year’s 2-day event is happening on December 12 and 13.
Efya has performed at various shows both in Ghana and outside including the “Hope City Concert” that had Chris Brown as headline artiste. She has, in recent months, headlined a number of shows organized by her label. For four consecutive years between, 2009-2013 she won ‘Best Female Vocalist of the Year’ at the Ghana Music Awards.
Meanwhile Efya has revealed that she is currently in a serious relationship and therefore she is off the market.
The “Gingam” singer made the revelation in an interview with Hitz @ 1 after the launch of the Girl Talk concert, Tuesday at the Surfline Office in Osu.
She, however, fell short of revealing who the lucky man in her life is.The singer was recently alleged to have said she was in a relationship with Tema-based musician Mugeez of R2Bees fame explained that Mugeez is just a brother and nothing more.
Explaining how she might have been misquoted, Efya said, “I was asked who my crush was and I don’t have any crush so I mentioned my brother which is what was escalated to that, but it's ok. I love Mugeez and Paedae and I like the vibe.”
Efya added that the love she has for R2bees is pure love and she also has an amazing relationship with the group.
