On November 14, 2015 at 3:00 a.m., Asibi was caught red-handed with the snails valued at GH¢ 650 concealed in a sack while he was preparing to bolt - a theft case which saw him charged before the Adjabeng Court 1 in Accra thus fined GH¢60 or in default, one week in prison.

Asibi,  pleaded guilty to the charge of stealing the snails belonging to Madam Grace Twumasi at the Agbogbloshie Market in Accra, was brought before the court, presided over by Madam Arit Nsemoh.

According to Sgt Konadu, there had been recent complaints of theft among the traders in the market, but all attempts to trace the mastermind had proved futile.
