NDC Primaries : EC Officers At Ejura Constituency Attacked Over Bloated Register

Voting is likely to be called off at Ejura Constituency in the Ashanti Region as officials of the Electoral Commission are taking cover following a mob attack which has led to the destroying of ballot boxes in the ongoing NDC primaries.

Media reports from the are do indicate the row is due to what disgruntled members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) describe as the bloating of the register.

Supporters of one of the aspirants claimed the number of voters were far less than what was contained on the register accusing the EC officials of conniving with the DCE of the area to rig the election.The scuffle caused the election to come to a halt as security presence gets beefed up in the constituency. The primaries is being held across 274 constituencies and 8,234 polling centres as the party will  for the first time use a biometric register codded with a newly adopted universal suffrage mode of elections
