NDC Primaries: Ashie Moore, Amaliba And Sports Minister Loses

Incumbent Member of Parliament for the Adentan constituency, Emmanuel Nii Armah Ashie Moore, has lost the National Democratic Congress (NDC) primary in the Adentan constituency.

Ashie Moore lost to Mohammed Ramadan who polled 2,387 votes with Ashie Moore pulling 1,130 votes. Other contenders for the seat, Former Sports minister under the erstwhile Kufuor administration Mallam Isa had 97 votes while former DCE for Adentan Kakra Van Lare had 368 votes.

Ashie Moore took over from Adu Asare in 2012. His failure to retain the seat goes to indicate that the Adentan Constituency is noted for a one term seat for Members of Parliament.

In a related development,  the National Democratic Congress (NDC) lawyer Mr Abraham Amaliba  also lost his bid to lead the party in the Bolgatanga Central constituency.

The popular NDC lawyer was beaten by Mr Isaac Adongo, who polled 4,290.In the fiercely contested contest; Mr Amaliba polled 3,050 votes while Emmanuel Opam and George Gamson had 2,956 and 906 respectively.

Also in the losing seat is Minister of Sports and Member of Parliament for Ayawaso North, Dr. Mustapha Ahmed who lost the Parliamentary primary. He was beaten by his closest contender Yussif Jajah.

Jajah beat other contestants including popular Sports commentator and analyst Mohammed Amin Lamptey and Ali Dawud.
