The 2015 National Democratic Congress (NDC) primaries have so far seen over a dozen incumbent Members of Parliament (MPs) lose their candidature to contest in the 2016 parliamentary elections.
Some of the new faces in the NDC have defeated some ‘big wigs’ in the party’s parliamentary primaries on Saturday.
For example 26 year old Joycelyn Tetteh toppled George Loh in the North Dayi constituency of the Volta Region who is only in his first term in Parliament.
Also MP for Daboya/Mankarigu constituency, Abudu Nelson, who proffered hanging or stoning to death as the best punishment for women who engage in adulterous acts, lost to Shaibu Mahama.
Below are names of some of the fallen incumbent MPs:
Nii Armah Ashitey - Klottey Korley constituency
Alfred Agbesi - Ashaiman constituency
Joe Gidusu - Tongu Central constituency
George Loh - North Dayi
Dr Ahmed Alhasan Yakubu – Mion
Nii Armah Ashie Moore – Adentan
