A 10-storey building belonging to the Export Development and Agricultural Investment Fund (EDAIF) has collapsed killing one person.
According to the Graphic, ten other people were also seriously injured during the collapse of the building.
The body of the deceased, a carpenter has reportedly been deposited at the Police Hospital morgue while the injured have been taken to the Adabraka Polyclinic and 37 Military Hospital in Accra.
According to sources, the first floor of the tower-structure caved in causing the entire building to tumble. The incident occurred around 1pm Sunday. The EDAIF building is located near the Cedi House in Accra. It is being constructed by an Israeli company, AMANDI.
A NADMO official, Jonathan Quarcoo from the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) confirmed to Graphic Online saying It was the first floor that caved in.
The NADMO Official also revealed that the contractor has been asked to stop work until investigations were over.
