Gov't Suspends All Petroleum Agreements As ENP Bill Awaits Passage

Government has officially resolved not to sign further petroleum agreements until Ghana's Exploration and Production (ENP) bill is passed by parliament, a member of the parliamentary select committee on mining and energy, Adam Matawakilu has revealed at the African Oil and Gas Governance Summit in Accra.

Should the Energy and Petroleum (ENP) bill be effectively passed, Ghana's offshore sector is expected to experience a strong link between oil wealth and development thus enabling advanced equity in the distribution of royalties in the nation's fledgling  oil industry.
