Ghana Police Postpones Inspection Of Drivers' Licenses To 2016

Ghana Police Postpones Inspection Of Drivers' Licenses To 2016

The inspection of drivers' licenses has been postponed to 2016 by the Ghana Police Police Service following the delay in the distribution of licenses by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) as director of the Motor Transport and Traffic Department (MTTD) DCOP Angwubutoge Awuni, said the postponement is to give the DVLA enough time to distribute the cards before the inspection begins.

The DVLA, some weeks ago announced the distribution of over 30,000 drivers’ licenses after delaying the printing of new cards due to technical challenges. Meanwhile the authority is having to grapple with allegations of embezzlement and impropriety following its contract with Foto X which  has been documented to be fraught with inconsistencies.
