Ghanaian young striker Patrick Twumasi will go down in the annals of Astana as its first player to score in the group stages of the Uefa Champions League.
The former Ghana U20 striker who was returning from a six-game, put the Kazakhstan Premier League title-winners upfront when he scored the opening goal in the 19th minute against Galatasaray.

Twumasi, 21-years and a former Sogakope Red Bulls Academy graduate, became the first ever Astana player to register a goal in the group stage when he gave the hosts the lead.
In the first leg, Astana scored two goals against Galatasaray in September but both were own-goals conceded by Galatasaray.
And, Twumasi's brilliant finish was delight as he met a Junior Kabananga's whipped cross from the left at the back post before nodding past Júlio César. His goal was a great start for the home side who require a victory to stay in contention.
He joined Astana from Russian Premier League side Amkar Perm' two seasons ago and won the top scorer award in the league last season.
