The Speaker of Parliament, Edward Doe Adjaho says he is not interested in the Vice President, Amissah Arthur’s position.
In an interview with the Herald Newspaper, the Speaker of Parliament refuted claims that he is plotting to displace Vice-President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur from office using a group called “Volta Youth For Development”.
He also rubbished the calls that he should partner President John Dramani Mahama for the 2016 general elections as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) running mate.
According to him “you do not change a winning team?.
He however the reiterated his confidence in the Mahama – Amissah-Arthur ticket to win the 2016 Presidential and Parliamentary elections for the NDC saying “Vice-President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur and several of his associates are aware of my stance”.
Mr. Adjaho further revealed that he will not compete with his former lecturer. “I won’t compete with my former lecturer for any position including the position of the Vice-President of Ghana.”
He disclosed that during his days at the University of Ghana, Legon, Mr. Amissah-Arthur was his Economics lecturer.
“I have a longstanding relationship with the Vice-President spanning over 30 years,” he noted.
