Ghanaian artistes Reggie Zippy and Bollie who are contesting in the X Factor talent hunt in the UK have made it to the Semi-Finals of the competition.
Sunday night’s result show saw the shocking exit of Filipino girl-group, 4th Impact from the X Factor UK music reality TV show, while Reggie N Semi and 3 other contestants made their way into the semi-finals. Singing Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae) by Silentó selected for them by the public for Jukebox week, Reggie N Bollie performed with their characteristic high energy for the jaunty song. It all looked like so much fun that mentor Cheryl couldn’t help it but get up and join them in an impromptu dance-off.
The advancement of the two in the competition came right on the heels of NPP flag bearer, Nana Akuffo Addo calling for support for the two. The aspiring president called on Ghanaians to vote to support the two who are lifting the name of Ghana high.
Also rallying support for Reggie N Bollie was Deputy Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Dzifa Abla Gomashie, who posted on her Facebook page on November 15, 2015 as follows:
The duo who were rejected at Britain’s Got Talent has made marks with their sparkling performances at the X Factor. They also changed their name from Menn on Point to Reggie n Bollie after they made it to the top 12 finalists.
The two became instant favourites with the X Factor judges and the audience when they performed their crazy-catchy own song Turn It Up with boundless energy that even provoked a smirk from Simon Cowell.
Last week they made it to the top 7 and are billed for the world tour next year. These are Ghanaian musicians making it big on a big platform like X Factor, so definitely they need our support.
