Spanish player and team-mate at AC Milan, Diego Lopez has revealed that the former Liverpool striker, Mario Balotelli has aspirations to play for Real Madrid.
The Spanish goalkeeper told digital magazine Marca Plus, that the controversial Ballo wants to play at the Bernabeu. "Do you know what? His [Balotelli's] dream is to play for Real Madrid," said Lopez.
Mario Balotelli was a complete flop at his return to the Premier League with Liverpool under ex-manager Brendan Rodgers.
Since returning to Milan on loan for the year, the attacker has started only two games in Serie A, scoring once.
When Rodgers brought Balotelli to Liverpool he felt the Italian Striker could fill the void left by Luis Suarez, but things turned the other way round. Many felt he contributed to the end of the manager's tenure at Anfield.
Jamie Carragher on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football, once heavily criticised the player calling him a "major mistake".
“The Balotelli one was a major mistake from the whole club, not just Brendan Rodgers but the transfer committee in bringing him in”, he said.
Thierry Henry backed Carragher's claim, saying that: “We didn't see enough of him….I don't think he was a Liverpool player, he didn't look like a Liverpool player for me and as soon as they got him I didn't think he was a player the club was going to like.”
Balotelli has been a disappointment to many pundits of the game, being someone blessed with a depth of skill rarely seen, but with an attitude that destroys trust in him wherever he goes.
At Manchester City, he could be seen on the pitch all right, but hardly made his presence felt as if he was unconcerned in the game he was involved in.
This was repeated at Merseyside, but Liverpool were quicker to let him go and so if he holds any Bernabeau dreams, Mario must find a new lease of life in Serie A.
The 25-year-old was one of the most highly rated teenagers in Europe as he moved through the ranks, but his questionable attitude and temperament have seen him transfer to a variety of clubs.
