Police Man Assaulted In Clashes At Ketu South

Clashes between angry residents and a foreign salt mining company in the Ketu South Municipality has seen several residents severely injured including the Keta Divisional Police Commander Chief Superintendent Alex Wowolo - a development resulting in the burning down of two vehicles.

Angry residents claim the salt mining company, Kessington salt factory encroached on their allotted section of their lagoon and also dumped their scooped sand on their mined salt.

In the meantime, the police has cordoned off the area as they beef up efforts to restore calm in the region. The assaulted police in the meantime is reported to be responding fairly to treatment in the hospital.
