Award winning Highlife Singer, Kwabena Kwabena, has expressed his displeasure at how people easily compare already existing artistes to emerging artistes. He noted that. People should refrain from the act, as it is not good for the music industry.
Reacting to a perceived rumour of an existing competition between him and sensational Highlife Singer Bisa Kdei, the silky voice singer said he does not think he is in any kind of competition whatsoever with Bisa.
Speaking on Neat FM’s “Entertainment Ghana”, Kwabena Kwabena noted that the comparism in the industry has the tendency of creating rivalry between artistes and advised people to desist from the practice. He revealed that he is happy Bisa Kdei’s song ‘Mansa’ is a hit and expressed regret for not making it to collaborate with the artiste.
“Bisa is a great artiste and we all need to support and I pray that more young ones would come from underground to also become great Highlife artistes. We are trying to build Highlife and the likes of Mark Okraku Mantey and others have also being pushing Highlife music. I have held the mantle for all this while and now Bisa is here to support, people want to create competition between us. No way! I’m not in competition with him. If we do that we are not helping Bisa Kdei. Do you see, how Ghanaians bring hatred between two artistes?” he asked.
The “Adult Music” hit maker said when he first heard ‘Mansa’ he advised Bisa Kdei to allow Kaywa to produce it for him and result is what we are hearing today.
Kwabena warned that Bisa is about to release his new album and should not be distracted with such unnecessary comparism. He called on all to put an end to the comparisms in order for artistes to concentrate and do their job.
Kwabena Kwabena latest single “Tuamudaa” was officially released on Tuesday December 1, 2015 ahead of the release of his upcoming fifth studio album.
