Parliament Orders GNPC To Produce Documents On Ex-Gratia

The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) has been ordered by the Parliamentary Select Committee on Mines and Energy to produce all documents related to the payment of ex-gratia to four former employees by Monday, December 7.

The Parliamentary Select Committee on Mines and Energy summoned the GNPC heads before it on Wednesday to explain circumstances leading to the payments as Committee Chairman on Mines and Energy, Ahmadu Sorogho, said the meeting had to be rescheduled to enable GNPC to produce documents to back the payments.

The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation(GNPC) is reported to have agreed to the approved payment of ex-gratia to former chief executive, Tsatsu Tsikata and four others including Nana Boakye Asafu-Adjaye (Ag. Chief Executive); Mr. Benjamin Dagadu (Field Evaluation and Development Manager); and Ms. Esther Cobbah (Public Affairs Manager) stating the delay in the payments was due to specific managerial circumstances.
