A Magistrate Court has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of boxer, Braimah Kamoko, alias Bukom Banku.
He is accused of assaulting an unemployed man.
Bukom Banku is accused of barging into the room of the complainant holding a cutlass on October 1, 2015 at 2:00a.m., while the complainant was asleep with his wife.
He is alleged to have drugged the complainant out of bed.
According to the prosecutor Bukom Banku then used the cutlass to beat the complainant mercilessly.
Bukom Banku is charged with causing unlawful damage by the court, which was presided over by Miss Arit Nsemoh.
Bukom Banku is a Ghanaian professional boxer with an undefeated record. Braimah first rose to prominence by winning a bronze medal in the Heavyweight 1999 All-Africa Games organized in Johannesburg, South Africa from 10 September to 18 September.
He won the WBO Africa Light Heavyweight title in 2011, and the WBO Africa Cruiserweight title in 2012. Between 2013 and 2015, Kamoko fought only once in over two years, however, and his boxing career appeared at a standstill, having not left Africa to fight a world class opponent, and inactivity.
