EPL Matches Return With Injuries In Big Clubs

Another weekend of English top flight football is here amid injury concerns in big clubs such as Arsenal and Manchester United.

The race to be crowned English Premier League champions is still wide open. With Leicester City sitting close to the top with premier league giants, many predict that any team is capable of winning this season’s title.

Here are the major games that will be played on Saturday, December 5, and all you need to know about them.

Arsenal vs Sunderland

Wenger’s boys will be hosting Sam Alladyce’s rejuvenated Sunderland at the Emirates stadium amid massive injury concerns for the gunners.

Arsenal will be without Alexis Sanchez and Santi Cazorla for the visit of Sunderland.

The two were injured in last weekend’s draw at Norwich with a hamstring injury sidelining Sanchez and Cazorla facing up to four months out with a knee problem.

Those also expected to miss out are Jack Wilshere (leg), Mikel Arteta and Kieran Gibbs (both calf), Francis Coquelin, Danny Welbeck and Tomas Rosicky (all knee).

Manchester United vs West Ham United

Louis Van Gaal’s side hosts Slaven Bilic’s side at Old Trafford with the absence of striker Wayne Rooney who is sidelined with an ankle injury.

Centre-back Phil Jones and midfielder Ander Herrera have not overcome the ankle and hamstring injuries they suffered at Watford a fortnight ago.

Defenders Marcos Rojo (shoulder), Luke Shaw (leg) and Antonio Valencia (foot) remain sidelined, but midfielder Jesse Lingard has recovered from a hamstring injury.

Provisional squad: De Gea, Romero, Johnstone, Tuanzebe, Smalling, Darmian, McNair, Mata, Blind, Young, Schneiderlin, Carrick, Powell, Fellaini, Schweinsteiger, Lingard, Depay, Pereira, Martial.

Chelsea vs Bournemouth

Jose Mourinho’s side will look to climb the table when they host Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening. Chelsea have had a horrible season so far, managing to garner 15 points from 14 games.

First choice goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is in contention to return after being sidelined for three months with a knee injury.

Manager Jose Mourinho had hoped to have captain John Terry, Ramires and Radamel Falcao available, but the trio remain out.
