The Begoro traditional council is demanding an apology from the chief of Ehiamankyene, Nene Nartey, for showing disrespect to the Begorohene.
According to the Council, Nene Nartey displayed gross disrespect to traditions when he refused to sit down at the arrival of the Begorohene for Friday’s national farmers’ day ceremony in the area as custom demanded.
The incident according to Starr News created chaos with followers of the Begorohene causing damage to the royal umbrella of the Ehiamankyene.
Sources close to Nene Nartey say he refused to sit because he does not swear allegiance to the Begorohene.
However, Daasebre Awuah Kotoko, the Okyeman Benkumhene rubbished the claim and urged him to accept and respect customs and traditions of the land.
