A special task-force set up by the Ghana Revenue Authority has closed down various bars, shops and restaurants due to what the GRA explains to be plans to clamp down on all companies who default in the payment of taxes.

The Special Mobilisation Task Force has so far retrieved about GH₵92.03 million from 1,627 delinquent taxpayers in four regions of Ghana for the third quarter of 2015 with GH₵4.9 million disclosed to have been collected in the Ashanti Region alone from organisations and businesses that have failed to honour their tax obligations over the last 12 months.
