The mother of 22-year old Sarah Kwablah - the young lady in the alleged sex scandal involving the captain of the captain of the Ghana Black Stars, Asamoah Gyan - has spoken for the first time, describing the footballer as an uncaring, arrogant, and callous 'Beast'.
She was speaking at a press conference held in Accra on Wednesday, flanked by her lawyer, Maurice Ampaw, and her daughter. Here are excerpts from her statement courtesy myjoyonline.com:
Asamoah Gyan was cleared of all charges of rape and sodomy by the Attorney General. Gyan was accused by a 22-year-old university student, Sarah Kwablah for allegedly raping and sodomizing her after the two had an affair in February this year. According to the footballer's lawyer, Gyan cooperated with the Police throughout their investigation and their investigation has come to an end. They were called to the headquarters of the CID and informed that after a careful study of the docket, the Attorney General has concluded the rape and unnatural canal knowledge made by Sarah Kwablah against Asamoah Gyan are totally baseless.
Maurice Ampaw spoke afterwards, charging the AG's office to come again in its verdict and promised to invoke the powers of the United Nations, Amnesty International and other global bodies - if need be - to get the China-based footballer to admit to rape.
