The Tamale police in the Northern Region are on the hunt for five persons believed to be ringleaders of an angry youth that vandalised the Metropolis on Wednesday.
The irate youth, believed to be members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) stormed the community called Sakasaka destroying billboards, paraphernalia and other valuables belonging to one Alhaji Ibrahim Seidu in protests.
The angry youth say Alhaji Ibrahim Seidu, an engineer should not have contested Inusah Fuseini the, Minister for Roads and Highways in the recent NDC primaries.
DCOP Ken Yeboah, Northern Regional Police Commander, briefing Joy News on Thursday, said the police are closing in on five of the ring leaders who have gone into hiding.
The five ringleaders could be charged for disturbing peace and order, and also causing damage to property when arrested.
Meanwhile, a combined team of police and military forces are patrolling the community.
