'Dumsor' Will Ease From Next Week - Power Minister Reveals

'Dumsor' Will Ease From Next Week - Power Minister Reveals

Power Minister, Dr. Kwabena Donkor has revealed that Ghanaians will from next week, December 13, be relieved of the intermittent power supply (dumsor).

Explaining the various steps put in place by government end the load shedding, the Power Minister states that several operational measures are underway including the Karpower barge, the Kpong Thermal Power Plant, noting that installation is taking place on AMERI Power Plant.

Meanwhile government is expected to seek parliamentary approval for a Liquid Natural Gas contract as an alternative fuel for the country’s plants, particularly those within the Tema enclave.

The protracted power crisis is feared to have collapsed thousands of businesses with workers also having lost their jobs - a development which has increased cost of doing business in Ghana and further left the nation's market scene less attractive to investors.
