Consumer Protection Agency Sues PURC, ECG Et Al

The Consumer Protection Agency (CPA) has filed a suit against Public Utilities and Regulatory Commission (PURC) and four other power companies over the new electricity tariffs.

The suit is seeking to restrain the defendants, especially the PURC from implementing the recent tariff increase.

According to the Chief Executive Officer of the agency, Kofi Owusuhene, popularly known as Kofi Capito they are praying the court to set aside the 59.2% increase in electricity tariff announced by the PURC.
