Ghana's Reggie N Bollie placed second in the popular British TV singing contest, The X Factor 2015 on Sunday, December 13. The duo made up of popular Ghanaian hiplife and dancehall solo acts, Reggie Zippy and Bollie were beaten in the finale by 17-year old singer, Louisa Johnson.
Sunday night's finale opened with a performance of "Down Town' by all of The Xfactor finalists before Reggie N Bollie and Louisa performed their favourite songs of the season. Both finalists also performed 'Forever Young', the first single to be released by the winner of the Xfactor. The finale also saw performances by Adele and One Direction.
Reggie ‘N’ Bollie said they would never be devastated that they lost. Their mentor, judge Cheryl Fernandez said it’s “just the beginning” for the music duo and we reckon they’ve at least got a decent album in them.
2015 has been a year of resurgence for the two lost names in the Ghanaian music scene, Reggy Zippy and Bollie. The two who now live in the UK have formed formed a group known as Menn on Point,which made an impressive showing on the hit reality TV show, Britain’s Got Talent. Although they couldn’t go further to win the big prize, the duo entered The X-factor – and UK fell in love with them.
They were advised to change their name from Menn On Point to Reggie N Bollie for The Factor after the made it to the top 16 live show stage. Reggie N Bollie were never rated the best singers in the contest, their energy and performances were infectious, earning them thousands of fans week in week out - as the dark horse eventually became a favourite for many Brits.
