NPP Orders Gov't To Open Bipartisan Investigations Into Controversial AMERI Deal

The New Patriotic Party, NPP has ordered government to initiate a bipartisan investigation into the controversial $593m deal entered with Dubai based AMERI Energy group which is documented to have been witnessed by a Norwegian fraudster, Umar Farooq.

In a statement signed by the Acting National Chairman of the Party, Freddie Blay, the main opposition party has argued that the controversial deal carried severe legal lapses of corruption which needs to be duly investigated.

Meanwhile the Deputy Minister of Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has early on replied stating government is less perturbed by the development since according to him, the Royal Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Dalmook Al Maktoum who owns the entity AMERI Energy with whom they signed the contract rather did not have a criminal record.
