Black Stars midfielder, Andre Ayew has been named by CAF as one of the final three players to vie for the 2015 African Player of the Year Award. The announcement was made at a press conference on Monday, 14 December 2015 in Abuja, Nigeria.
The deputy captain has been named with Ivory Coast’s Yaya Toure and Gabonese striker, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang at the annual awards ceremony which will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2016 in Abuja, Nigeria.
Dede Ayew is expected to face competition from four-time African Footballer of the Year, Yaya Toure of Manchester City who already beat him to it in the BBC African Player of The Year award and Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for the topmost award.
Ghana’s national teams the Black Stars and Black Queens were named as well as youngster Yaw Yeboah of Lille, named as nominees in their respective categories for the 2015 Glo-CAF Awards.
