Braimah Kamoko, popularly known among boxing fans as 'Bukom Banku' has vowed to stop Michael Okine , aka Ayittey Powers in round 5 of their much awaited rematch dubbed ‘Repeat or Revenge’ in Kumasi on December 26.
The Joy Daddy Sponsored event is named ‘repeat or revenge’ in reference to the previous bout between the two which ended in a one sided tale for Banku.
So, as the two crowd pullers come to square it out again, it really remains to be seen if it is going to be a repeat win for Bukom Banku or a revenge for Ayittey Powers who says, “the first fight I made lots of mistakes which I have corrected now so I am optimistic of beating Banku this time,”.
The night though long and pervaded with other interesting bouts between boxers from the UK, Nigeria and Togo, will also see Ghanaian music superstars Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, D-Black, Efya and Kwaw Kese mount the stage as well to keep an exciting atmosphere for the yuletide.
With the GH¢ 50,000 purse, a Range Rover and a holiday for two to Johannesburg at stake, the two boxers have promised to deliver some interesting fisticuffs on the day.
And their intention says it all with Bukom Banku saying that: “It will be a miracle for Powers to pass round 5 so you come to the Kumasi Stadium and watch on December 26.”
A determined Michael Okine, aka Ayittey Powers, who lost the first bout by a unanimous decision, who also promised to be the boxer to hand Banku his first career defeat, had this to say: “Whatever I have to do to win this fight I have so I don’t have any problem at all.”
