Mustapha Ahmed Defends Sports Budget Slash

The Sports Minister, Dr Ahmed Mustapha has come out to defend the government’s decision to slash the budget for sports for the fiscal year of 2016.

The 2016 sports budget has been slashed down to GHC22 million; a 42% slash from the GHC39 million allocated to the 2015 sports budget by the finance ministry.

The reason is the government's resolve to complete the construction of two stadia, the Cape Coast and Ho stadia. Both stadia has been lined up by the government to be constructed to add up to the dwindling sports infrastructure which is important to the development of sporting disciplines in the country.
