According to a Myjoyonline story, a Cabinet minister has explained that the exorbitant cost involved in re-branding the Metro Mass Transport (MMT) buses is because branding was “artistic and artistic work tends to be very expensive”.
The inflated cost for the re-branding of the buses continue to generate controversy among Ghanaians.
A pro-forma invoice for branding the buses stated the abnormal figures below:
Minority leader in Parliament on Tuesday revealed that government had spent GHC3, 649,000 for the re-branding of the 116 buses meant for intra-city transportation.
He further noted that cost per unit was GHC31,000.
Smarttys Management and Production was the company that branded the buses.
Meanwhile the minority has called for a probe into the matter but the Majority has defended the cost, saying it is justifiable.
