Over 9000 Ivorian Refugees Starve In Ghana

The UNHCR and the World Food Programme are reported to have officially ended their supply of humanitarian assistance to over 9000 Ivorian refugees here in Ghana with reasons of the ongoing conflict in Syria, Burundi and North Africa being considered.

Programme Coordinator of the Ghana Refugee Board, Tetteh Padi, has in an interview disclosed that the ongoing conflict in the said areas is what has resulted in the shift of focus from Ghana.

Over twenty million refugees from across  26 countries including those who have applied for but have not yet been granted asylum in Ghana. Out of this number, 11, 452 of them are from Ivory Coast.
