Issaka Mohammed, a 70-year-oldman has been strangled to death by a gang of robbers at a sachet water manufacturing company at Agona Kwansakrom, near Agona Swedru in the Central Region.
The five armed robbers on Friday dawn, around 0300 hours, attacked and killed the elderly man reported to be a security man of the Clear Choice Enterprise, producers of Classic sachet Water in a their bid to rob the company.
According to a Deputy Superintendent of Police at the Agona Swedru district, Paul Wesley Baah, the five masked armed men took advantage of the obscure place the company was, which made it not easily accessible by the police and strangled the old man by tying his neck with a cloth, leaving him to suffocate to death.
The robbers then made away with some mobile phones, laptop and an unspecified amount of money from the company.
The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the Agona Swedru Municipal Hospital Mortuary awaiting autopsy.
