Fatal Landslide In China Collapses Over 22 Buildings

A fatal landslide in the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen has resulted in the collapse of over 22 buildings including two workers' dormitory as 900 residents get evacuated and several others pulled alive from the rubble with at least 27 remain missing, officials say.

The accident has seen about 1,500 firefighters deployed to the scene as local media reported reveal that the  soil that came loose had been dug up in the past two years in construction work and was piled up nearby.

Meanwhile, the landslide is reported to have covered an area of 20,000 sq m (24,000 square yards)  with soil as media reports show 21 men and six women have so far been unaccounted for.
