The Board and Management of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital have declared their support for the Chief Executive Officer of the facility as against allegations of mismanagement by some senior staff.
At a press conference in Accra on Monday, the Board and Management refuted all the allegations leveled against the CEO, saying “all the allegations have no foundation. They are baseless and are untrue.”
According to the Board Chairman, Anthony Mawuli Sallah “I have not seen a speck of arrogance by the CEO”.
Some senior staff of the teaching hospital is demanding the dismissal of Dr. Gilbert Buckle for mismanaging the hospital. They also accuse him of corruption and authoritarianism.
But the Board will not buy any of the accusations leveled against the CEO.
Mr. Sallah also accused the staff of not showing any interest in resolving the matter at hand. “ We had a meeting and there was supposed to be another one in my office to address the issues, I waited for them but they didn’t turn up. I don’t know what exactly is the problem but it appears they are not interested in getting it resolved,” he said angrily.
He further revealed that the appointment of the new CEO [Dr. Gilbert Buckle] has seen a massiv improvement in revenue generation of the hospital.
