Celebration Of Christmas Banned In Somalia

The celebration of Christmas has been officially banned by the Somali government as authorities argue celebrating the festive season threatened Islamic ideals stating that all those who celebrate the season are clearly not related to Islam.

To such effect, the government in Somalia has deployed thousands of security agencies to be on the alert against any form of Christmas gathering as it has ordered all holiday seekers and Christians to celebrate the festival in closed doors.

To that effect, all form of Christmas celebrations are expected to be celebrated across all UN compounds and bases for African Union peacekeepers based in the country as government stiffens efforts to fight against the al-Qaeda-linked militants of Al-Shabab.
