Curfew Imposed On Bunkprugu Following Renewed Clashes Between Feuding Clans

There has been the imposition of an 8pm to 6am curfew in the Bunkprugu township of the Northern Region following renewed tensions between conflicting factions of the Jamong and Jafog clans.

In a statement signed by the interior ministry, the curfew, which is expected to take effect from Tuesday, December 29, 2015 was based on calls by the Northern Regional Security Council (NRCC) as deputy interior minister, James Agalga has further charged all residents to do their best in finding amicable ways to resolving their issues.

Meanwhile President John Mahama at the 2015 Damba festival in Manprugu called for the need for peace in the conflicted zone charging residents belonging to the Jamong and Jafog clans to cease-fire.
