Several Dead, Over 100 Injured In Fatal Nigeria Gas Explosion

An unknown number of Nigerians lost their lives in what has been described as a huge explosion at a gas plant in south-eastern Nigeria with reports of fatalities exceeding a hundred casualties. 

Reports do indicate the accident happened when a said truck which was off-loading butane cooking gas in the town of Nnewi in Anambra state exploded in the midst of a large crowd of customers who had queued up to purchase gas for prepare their Christmas meals.

Narrating the incidence to the BBC, an eyewitness explained the bloody accident is also reported to have seen staff inside the plant are brutally trapped as eyewitnesses

Meanwhile the accident scene has been cordoned off as police initiate investigations into the blast.
