FDA Destroys GH₵ 50,000 Worth Of Expired Goods In Upper East

Several expired goods amounting to over GH₵ 50,000 in the Upper East Region has been seized and destroyed by the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) over a period of three months as part of the FDA's post surveillance activities aimed at clamping down on expired goods during the festive season.

Regional director of the FDA, Braimah Zachariah in an interview with the media explained that these expired goods were retrieved from several shops, supermarkets, shell shops and across main markets in the region.

 

Meanwhile the FDA has revealed its resolve to provide and enforce standards for the sale of food, herbal medicine, cosmetics, drugs, medical devices and household chemical substances as it expands its surveillance across the country.
