National Security On Alert Following Impounding Of Truck With 1 Million Bullets

A truck bearing the registration number KTU 444 XD carrying over one million packs of bullets together with sealed packs of Indian hemp has been impounded by custom officers at Aflao in the Volta Region as the police reveal the vehicle may have illegally carted the same amount of armaments into the country from either Nigeria or Togo.

Reports from the police thus indicate that the occupants of the vehicle concealed the ammunition in the compartment of vehicle so that it took strenuous checks to unveil the illegal items.

In the meantime, all three occupants of the vehicle, including the driver are said to have escaped the grips of the police as the police mounts an emergency search party for the criminals. It remains unknown the reason for such trafficking of illegal bullets but fears are rife over the possible election connotation linked to the act.Officials of custom are yet to brief the media with more details regarding the development as Ghanaians are been advised to stay on the alert against any unexpected incidence.
