'I Lost To Banku Because I Disobeyed T.B Joshua' - Ayittey Powers

Boxer, Ayittey Powers has revealed that he lost to his rival, Bukom Banku because he failed to heed to the advice of his spiritual father, Bishop T.B Joshua him not to fight on the date.

“The reason why I went contrary to the directive from the man of God was that I did not want a repeat of the back and forth the preceded the maiden bout in Accra last year. I didn’t want to disappoint the fans who had asked for this bout for so many years, thus the sacrifice,” he told Joy Sports in an exclusive interview.

Powers loss to Banku make it twice in a row - the maiden edition of this bout was staged at the Accra Stadium on May 16, 2014 and the second bout was at the Baba Yara Stadium in the early hours of December 27, 2015.

He, however, hinted of  a third bout between the two in the future.  “Banku has defeated me twice, he is the champion, but you never know what will happen in the future,” he said.
