Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Grid Company, GRIDCO, William Amuna has revealed that the ongoing load shedding exercise has stabilized and is under much control as Ghana now generating enough electricity to meet consumer demand.
The good news by GRIDCO follows the complete stabilization of erratic power supply across the country since December 24 - an intervention which is said to have been engineered by the emergence of the power barges and other power plants.
Meanwhile, the minister of power, Kwabena Donkor has appealed for more time to fix the erratic power situation. Addressing the government assurance committee in parliament on Wednesday, Dr. Donkor explained that his end of year ultimatum for fixing the energy crisis was yet not over and that he needed more time.
Ghana's protracted energy crisis is feared to have crippled several businesses as the impact of the crisis is documented to have cost the nation huge losses in terms of work output and business confidence.
