MP’s Convoy Leaves Two Dead In Gory Accident

The NPP Member of Parliament for Ejura/Sekyeredumase, in the Ashanti Region , Hon Salisu Bamba’s convoy on which they were travelling got involved in a gory accident that left two persons dead on Sunday evening.

The two whose names were not immediately given are a close aide to the MP and an electrician who died when a Toyota Land Cruiser they were traveling on, veered off the road and somersaulted.

Four other people, who were also on board the Land Cruiser, were rushed to the Komfo Anokye TeachingHospital (KATH) where they were treated of various body injuries and discharged.

The visibly terrified MP, who found it extremely difficult recounting what happened, said he and his team including his aide and the electrician went to Anyinasu to complete an electrification project.

He said they decided to stay behind and watch a Christmas football gala he organized for the constituency after the project.

It was while they were returning that the Land Cruiser on which the electrician and his close associate were travelling got involved in the accident. The victims were quickly rushed to the Sekyeredumase Health Centre but later referred to KATH where his friend and the electrician gave up the ghost with the four others treated and discharged.

The deceased was said to be in-charge of the developmental projects of the MP in the constituency.
