A 32 year old ex-convict and robbery suspect, Wasami Dennis has said that he largely operated in Ghana and claimed that he was encouraged by the weak security compared to the one in Nigeria.
PM News reports that the suspect made this claim after operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) arrested him at his hideout in Agbole Orile in Lagos.
The suspect confessed that he was released almost a year ago for robbery and that his operation had taken him across border.
The suspected armed robber said he operated more in Ghana but had a steady market in Nigeria.
He claimed that prison life had changed him and that the machetes found in his apartment belonged to some ‘area boys’. He said he now earned a honest living.
He claimed that nobody challenged his criminal activities in Ghana.
Joe Offor, the Lagos state police spokesperson confirmed the incident and assured that the force was committed to reducing the crime rate.
