Diouf, who did nott take it lightly, could not restrain himself back when talking about his ex-teammates to French So Foot (via the Telegraph ) .
The comments left a number of supporters and colleague legends of the Merseyside furious especially with a fraction of their fans and ex-players clearly expressing unhappiness with what was said.
One such person is, Norwegian John Arne Riise, who hit back at Diouf on his personal Twitter account, saying: " All we can do is laugh at him.. Pathetic comments!! Clueless.
"What a load of crap!! Put him on the pitch with Carra and Gerrard. 50/50 challenge please!! Smash!!!"
Diouf and Gerrard have traded insults regularly over previous years, with the former Liverpool captain labelling Diouf's behaviour as "contemptuous and spiteful" in relation to an incident where he spat at Celtic fans during Liverpool's visit to Parkhead in 2003.
